This is where I took my meta-pause. It was delightful, refreshing, and a joy to spend time on the top of that mountain. My students were treated to lessons on identifying trees in the Sierra Nevada mountains as well as the changes in weather at various elevations.

We took side trips to walk around Empire Mine State Historic Park and South Yuba River State Park, as well as some dog park action at Western Gateway Dog Park.
